The Gibson L-50 is an iconic acoustic archtop guitar that has been a staple in Gibson's lineup for decades. It was first introduced in 1932 as an affordable option for players looking for a high-quality instrument. The L-50 was designed to offer superior tone and playability at a reasonable price point, making it accessible to a wide range of musicians.

The L-50 features a carved arched solid spruce top, which contributes to its warm and resonant tone. Its back and sides are typically made of maple, adding brightness and clarity to the sound. The guitar also features a comfortable neck with a rosewood fingerboard, providing smooth playability and easy navigation across the fretboard.

Over the years, the L-50 has undergone various design changes and iterations, reflecting evolving tastes and technologies in guitar manufacturing. Different versions of the L-50 have featured variations in body size, neck profile, and hardware configurations, but they have all maintained the essential characteristics that have made the L-50 a favorite among guitarists.

The L-50 has been favored by many players across different genres, including jazz, blues, country, and folk. Its rich, balanced tone and responsive dynamics make it well-suited for both fingerstyle and strumming techniques.

Throughout its history, the Gibson L-50 has earned a reputation for its quality craftsmanship, excellent sound, and affordability, making it a beloved instrument for players of all levels. Today, vintage L-50 guitars are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, while modern reissues continue to carry on the legacy of this classic guitar design.

This L-50 arrived at BBGB in original condition, with considerable playwear and a missing pickguard.  One loose brace was re-glued and it was ready to go.  Includes modern TKL hard shell case.
