1992 Sobell Model 1

Founded by luthier Stefan Sobell in the late 1970s, Sobell Guitars has gained a reputation for producing exceptional handmade guitars.

Sobell guitars are often associated with their unique design and construction, offering a combination of traditional craftsmanship and innovative features. The instruments are crafted with attention to detail, using carefully selected tonewoods to achieve a rich and balanced sound.

Stefan Sobell is known for his expertise in building guitars for various styles of music, including folk, fingerstyle, and Celtic. His instruments are favored by many professional musicians and collectors for their playability and distinct tonal characteristics.  Due to the handmade nature of these instruments and the limited production, Sobell guitars are considered boutique and are highly sought after in the world of acoustic guitars.

This 1992 Sobell Model 1 Cutaway was crafted with a Bearclaw German Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, and an ebony bridge and fingerboard.   There are some minor dings in the finish and pickwear on the top consistent with a 30+ year old instrument that has been well cared for but played regularly.   The rosewood back has had a couple of cracks professionally repaired and stabilized.   Overall excellent condition.
