2010 Hamitlone SRV Limited Edition
In the 1980’s, Stevie Ray Vaughn famously played a Hamiltone guitar built with Fender Stratocaster style electronics, pickguard and tremolo system. The body was, for the time, a unique creation with a neck-through-body construction in laminated maple. This example is likely an import copy of that famous original, complete with the neck-through construction and “Stevie Ray Vaughn,” inlaid in pearloid on an ebony fingerboard, just like the original. There are three strat-style single coil pickups controlled with a 5-way switch, a volume knob and two tone knobs. A tremolo arm, not included, can be attached to activate the strat-style trem-bridge assembly. A largely nonfunctional truss rod nut is accessible at the base of the neck, next to the neck pickup. Most of these import guitars have the truss rod access at the headstock, but this one imitates the original Hamiltone construction. The neck is not as straight as one would hope, but somehow it plays well with reasonably low action. The headstock is adorned with the Hamiltone logo, here executed in the actual mother of pearl, unlike the celluloid plastic normally used for these imported examples. The back of the headstock is stamped with the serial number 1029. The tuners are chrome import copies of mini Schallers. The guitar is in clean cosmetic condition with only a few marks here and there, mostly around the binding. The trem arm is not included.
