Magnatone Troubadour 213
Magnatone Troubadour 213
Recently arrived, this late 50s Magnatone Troubadour 213 combo has been getting a lot of attention in the showroom.
This example is in excellent condition for its age, due in large part to the original cover being mostly intact and included with the amp.
The Troubadour was known for its 35 watts of output power, which was quite substantial for its era. This allowed it to produce a rich, full-bodied sound suitable for both clean tones and overdriven sounds when pushed though the original 12" speaker.
Prized for its sweet, smooth sound with a good amount of headroom, it was particularly favored by jazz guitarists and blues players for its ability to deliver clear, articulate tones.
Magnatone amplifiers, including the Troubadour series, were produced primarily in the 1950s and 1960s. They are considered classics today and are sought after for their vintage tone and build quality, as well as the unique vibrato circuit.
Overall, the Magnatone Troubadour 213 is remembered as a part of the golden age of tube amplifiers, offering musicians a reliable and sonically pleasing option for both studio recording and live performance. Its design and sound characteristics have contributed to its enduring legacy among guitarists and collectors alike.
The original speaker has been re-coned, and other than that and a grounded plug is in all original condition. Recently serviced and certified by Dan Lurie of FYD Amps, it is available now for local pickup at the showroom.
